Changes for 2018

Catching up on odds and ends.

  • A proposal to make all regionals Thursday through Saturday was rejected by the Championships Committee, which cited missed class time as a major hindrance to the proposal. As in the past, only regionals with no-Sunday participants will play Thursday through Saturday.
  • 2018 pool allocations: 43 Pool A, 2 Pool B, 19 Pool C (last year was 43-1-20).
  • The eight-team finals will be reseeded once again this season.
  • UT Tyler and Benedictine will count as in-region for opponents regardless of whether one or both universities are accepted into Division II this July.

The FAQ and All D III Teams, Conferences pages have been updated for the 2018 season. Corrections appreciated.

Remaining coach openings: UMM, Finlandia

As far as I know, we are down to a pair of head coach openings in the Central and Midwest regions. Minnesota Morris is searching for Lauren Torvi’s replacement while Finlandia also posted an opening for a coach. Torvi accepted the head coach position at NCAA Division II South Dakota School of Mines.
