Oshkosh’s Cahoon a candidate for national award

UW Oshkosh senior libero Christina Cahoon is one of 11 candidates for the 2009-2010 D-III Athlete of the Year. The AVCA named Cahoon as the national Player of the Year after leading the Titans to a 39-3 record and a trip to the national semifinals. The Board of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards also selected Cahoon as the D-III women’s volleyball Player of the Year, leading to her nomination for the Athlete of the Year award.

Cahoon, a two-time AVCA first-team All-American, recorded a D-III record 928 digs and became the first libero in any NCAA division to win AVCA national Player of the Year honors.
