So long, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Hello, American Rivers Conference. The former IIAC announced its name change Thursday. The impetus for the name change was when Nebraska Wesleyan joined the IIAC two years ago.

  1. Huh? What? Why? So you take a perfectly normal conference name that describes exactly where and what you are and change it to something completely nebulous? Because you added ONE school from outside the state? I would love to hear the back story on this one! I read the release it does not help, the PC branding logic in the article is laugh out loud funny. American Rivers? I am pretty sure all 50 states have rivers. The season can not start fast enough!

  2. NED3VballFan,
I think I would really enjoy being on the periphery of these kinds of decisions from the initial stages through the launch. My nearly endless curiosity and fascination of things, meeting with a personal perspective accrued through a life still being lived, sounds like an existential bit of fun.
