2016 AVCA Week 9 poll: Unbeaten Calvin remains atop rankings

Minor adjustments aside, the top 25 teams from last week stayed the same in the AVCA Week 9 poll.

Unbeaten Calvin remained atop the rankings, followed by second-ranked Cal Lutheran, third-ranked Texas Dallas, fourth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and fifth-ranked Southwestern.

Central and Midwest teams in this week’s top 25: No. 11 UW-Whitewater; No. 13 UW-La Crosse; No. 14 Washington-St. Louis; No. 17 UW-Stevens Point; No. 18 Elmhurst; No. 20 UW-Oshkosh; No. 22 Northwestern.

Central and Midwest teams receiving votes this week: Millikin; UW-Eau Claire; Chicago; Gustavus Adolphus; St. Thomas; Augsburg; Wartburg; Luther.

  1. It’s late in the season and many of the coaches have things on their mind other than voting. And apparently so do I.

    39 of 48 ballots cast this week.

    Calvin’s breakdown 39/9/1 for the magic total of 49.

    Concordia-Austin received only 1 vote, but it was a 6th place vote. Not bad.

    Only 8 teams appeared on all 39 ballots.

    Juniata had the highest point total of those not on all 39 ballots.
