  1. So here are my thoughts on an all CCIW team.

OH: Shelby Knowles Senior Wheaton (4th in conference in kills)

OH: Tyler Brown Soph Illinois Wesleyan (first in conference in kills per set, hitting .283)

OH: Erin Syversen Junior Millikin (first in conference with 460 kills which leads by a wide margin)

MH: Mary Lawrence Senior Elmhurst (leads conference in blocks, hitting .290 which is 3rd in conference)

Setter: Hannah Nimrick Senior Elmhurst (leads conference in assists and hitting % by a lot)

RS: Stephanie Korbakes Senior Carthage (6th in conference in kills)

Libero: Cassidy Kingery Senior Millikin (leads conference in digs)

Player of the Year: Setter Hannah Nimrick Elmhurst.

Has a gazillion triple doubles. Currently has team on the verge of a CCIW title, team ranked #18 in the current AVCA poll while playing the toughest schedule in the country.
Maybe not the most fundamentally sound setter but certainly the most well rounded setter in the conference whether attacking on second contact with over 200 kills or chasing down errant passes for a conference leading 1083 assists or passing for over 350 digs on the season.

Freshman of the Year: Outside Hitter Meghan Lacey Wheaton.

Only Freshman in top 10 in conference for kills nearing 300 on the season. 2nd on the team in digs with over 340.

Most Underrated Player: Outside Hitter Shelby Knowles Wheaton.

Arguably the most exciting hitter in the conference. Has Wheaton on the verge of playing in the conference tournament despite the adversity of playing the 3rd toughest schedule in the country (according to Herosports). Averaged 24 kills, hit .315, and 16 digs per match during a late season upset of ohio wesleyan, illinois wesleyan, chicago, and augustana in a row.

  2. Anon @ 3:21,
That’s quality commenting. Thank you for that. Anyone else have a breakdown on their respective conferences? It’s a slow night around here.
