  1. Soooooo…the avca poll is out anddddd… uw stevens point is ranked #17 and elmhurst is ranked #18…this after elmhurst has now BEATEN uwsp TWICE in hth…this is why NO ONE should take the coaches poll with an ounce of credibility…SMDH.

  2. CCIW fan here. Shelby Knowles of Wheaton is the conference’s best player and I’ve seen them all. Imo better than Tyler Brown of Illinois Wesleyan, Erin Syversen of Millikin, Stephanie Korbakes of Carthage, and Hannah Nimrick of Elmhurst.

Most CCIW volleyball observers will probably disagree with this but Kelly Thornton of Wheaton is also the best setter in the conference imo. Her sets are consistently soft with minimal ball rotation and always placed in an optimal hitting location. If she didn’t play in a 6-2 coming on as the second setter, her talents would really shine.

Btw, I am not a Wheaton parent, fan, friend of a Wheaton player or in any way connected to the Wheaton program.

One more thing, while freshman Meghan Lacey of Wheaton may be the best freshman in the conference, certainly her numbers would back that up with what will be at least 300 kills on the season, her teammate Madeline Moore imo may end up being the better player.

  3. Anon @ 11:29,
At the beginning of the season, the CCIW OH I considered perhaps the most complete is now playing libero. So, I’ll plead the fifth this time.

I’ve seen most CCIW teams both live and online, and I will say that Wheaton has progressed nicely since earlier this season.
