2015 Annual Meeting Report posted (UPDATED)

Highlights of the 2015 NCAA Division III Volleyball Committee meeting report:
• Same bid allocation as last season (same 44 Pool A conferences, zero Pool B, 20 Pool C)
Proposals:
• Rank eight teams in each region instead of top 15 percent with a minimum of six teams [NO ACTION TAKEN]
• Hold the championship final tournament from Thursday through Saturday [APPROVED]
• Separate conference and nonconference strength of schedule on the score reporting system [NO ACTION TAKEN]
• Move won-lost percentage in the last 25 percent of the season from primary to secondary criteria [NO ACTION TAKEN]

If approved the proposals would take effect Sept. 1, 2015.

  1. I think it’s comical to make any changes to the RAC when we saw last season that (in the west) they ignored the rankings altogether. I would be more excited if I thought the NCAA would hold to all of the regional rankings and take the best teams.

    Interesting that a win in August/September means the same as a win later in the year. I’m fine with it but coaches typically use these first games to try out lineups and can certainly drop a game or two early. Again, it really doesn’t matter what criteria is used as long as the final word rests with the NCAA behind closed doors.
