11 Central, Midwest players named Academic All-District

Capital One announced its Academic All-District Volleyball Teams on Thursday. The following 11 players from either the Central or Midwest regions were recognized as First Team All-District for their efforts in the classroom.

Morgan Denny, UW-Stout junior middle
• Kelly Foley, St. Thomas junior middle
• Stephanie Kirchner, UW-Platteville senior middle
Tanya Marvi, Washington-St. Louis senior defensive specialist
Kim Rogers, Simpson senior libero
Kelly Schuh, UW-Eau Claire senior outside
Krista Stoltz, Northwestern senior setter
Shelby Switzer, North Park senior outside
Kaitlyn Wilks, Elmhurst senior middle
Bailey Wilson, Wartburg junior middle

Those 11 First Team All-District student-athletes are now eligible for Capital One Academic All-America status. Capital One NCAA Division III volleyball Academic All-America Teams will be announced on Dec. 10.

About the awards: If you’re a starter or important reserve player on your university or college team, and you have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, then you may be eligible to become a Capital One Academic All-America®honoree. You must be nominated by a current, dues-paying CoSIDA member, who completes the application on your behalf.
