11/4: Whitworth clinches, Otterbein enters Pool C

Whitworth won the NWC automatic bid tonight. The NWC is the only Pool A conference that doesn’t conduct a postseason tournament. Whitworth joins Baruch as the only two teams with guaranteed spots so far in the NCAA Tournament. Follow the other automatic qualifiers on the Links to all Conference Tourneys page.

The following upsets from around the country are according to tournament seeds. The regionally ranked teams that were defeated today: Otterbein, Fredonia, Texas-Dallas and McMurry.

USAS: No. 6 Shenandoah 3, No. 3 Methodist 1.

SUNYAC: No. 2 (East) New Paltz 3, No. 1 (West) Fredonia 2. Fredonia is No. 6 in the New York rankings.

SCAC: No. 9 Dallas 3, No. 8 Hendrix 0.
SCAC: No. 10 Rhodes 3, No. 7 Centre 0.
SCAC: No. 5 Trinity (Texas) 3, No. 4 Birmingham-Southern 0.
SCAC: No. 5 Millsaps 3, No. 3 Austin 1.
SCAC: No. 11 Oglethorpe 3, No. 7 Centre 2.

OAC: No. 3 Mount Union 3, Otterbein 1. Otterbein is No. 4 in the Great Lakes rankings. Mount Union is No. 6 in the Great Lakes.

NEAC: No. 5 Keuka 3, No. 4 Lancaster Bible 1.

GSAC: No. 5 Huntingdon 3, No. 4 Agnes Scott 0.

Centennial: No. 3 Gettysburg 3, No. 2 Franklin & Marshall 2.

ASC: No. 3 (East) Texas-Tyler 3, No. 2 (East) Mary Hardin-Baylor 1.
ASC: No. 2 (West) Mary Hardin-Baylor 3, No. 1 (West) McMurry 1. It was McMurry’s first loss in the double-elimination tournament. McMurry is No. 8 in the South rankings.
ASC: No. 3 (East) Texas-Tyler 3, No. 1 (East) Texas-Dallas 2. Texas-Dallas is No. 7 in the South rankings. UTD has been eliminated from the double-elimination tournament.
