Abridged weekend recap

Here are my highlights of the weekend.
No. 4 Emory 3, No. 16 Chicago 2. Set 5 ended 15-8. EU won the last two sets. UC had just 44 kills and hit .165.
No. 16 Chicago 3, Case 2. Set 5 ended 15-11. Both are 1-1 in the UAA heading into today.
No. 10 St. Thomas 3, RV Wartburg 2. Set 5 ended 15-11. UST middle Kelly Foley went 23-6-44.
No. 10 St. Thomas 3, Cornell 1. CC won Set 3, 25-7. UST is 17-3.
Central 3, RV Bethel 0. Two sets went extras. CC libero Chelsea Grieger had 29 digs. CC is 15-4. BU is 13-6.
Cornell 3, St. Olaf 1. CC hit .221.
Saint Mary’s 3, RV Coe 1. Coe’s (18-2) 10-match winning streak ended. SMU improved to 12-6. Coe beat SMU in five last weekend.
RV Wartburg 3, UW-Eau Claire 0. Teams combined for 88 kills. WC hit .385. WC is 16-5.
Cornell 3, UW-Eau Claire 2. Set 5 ended 15-13. CC’s Sabrina Hargis had 56 assists. CC is 14-3.
UW-Eau Claire 3, St. Olaf 1. Two formerly ranked teams had a combined 20-20 record after the match. UWEC outhit SOC .250 to .055.
Dominican 3, Edgewood 2. Set 5 ended 15-8. DU outside Jacy Lawrence went 26-6-74. EC fell to 3-2 in the NAC.
Dominican 3, Maranatha 2. Set 5 ended 15-7. DU is the lone NAC unbeaten at 6-0. MBBC fell to 3-2. MBBC’s Torey DeLozier went 30-11-92.
Northwestern 3, Minnesota-Morris 1. NWC is 4-0 in the UMAC. UMM is 2-2. MWC opposite Greta King went 17-3-49 with 20 digs and five aces.

Around the country
Otterbein 3, No. 3 Wittenberg 2. Set 5 ended 15-9. WU is 14-2. OU is 16-4.
No. 9 Southwestern 3, No. 14 Colorado 0. Two sets went extras. CC is 15-5 heading into today. SU is 15-2.
RV Whitworth 3, Puget Sound 0. WU hit .315. WU (11-4, 6-0) is the lone NWC unbeaten and has a two-game lead. UPS (12-2) is 4-2 in the NWC.
RV Whitworth 3, No. 20 Pacific Lutheran 1. WU won the kills column by 19. WU outside Kaimi Rocha went 22-8-56 with 19 digs. PLU (12-3) is 4-2 in the NWC.
No. 18 UMass Boston 3, No. 19 Cortland 1. Cortland’s (21-1) first loss. UMB is 13-2 overall and 13-0 against D-III teams.
CMS 3, No. 25 Occidental 1. Both are 4-2 in the SCIAC. Oxy is 5-4 in its last nine matches.
